Our PreK program is for children who miss the Kindergarten cut-off in Methuen, born September - December of the calendar year, and focuses on socialization and gaining the foundational skills needed for kindergarten.  Special emphasis is placed on developing children’s social, emotional, physical and cognitive skills.

  • Social Development. Children are taught how to be both leaders as well as members of a group. Activities are focused on teaching cooperation and sharing with other students.

  • Emotional Development. Children are taught how to be independent and how to respect and care for others.  Children learn how to appropriately express themselves.

  • Physical Development. Children are taught fine motor skills that are needed for crucial tasks in kindergarten like cutting with scissors and writing with a pencil.  Children are also tough gross motor skills and hand-eye coordination.

  • Cognitive Development. Children are taught the beginnings of phonic skills as well as memory and listening comprehension. They are encouraged to ask questions and expand on skills needed for problem solving.
